Being 13 in 1980, armed with Back in Black, Led Zeppelin II, We Sold Our Souls for Rock and Roll and Destroyer and looking for more was a great time to be a beginning metalhead you and I are pretty close in age. I was 11 in 1980....back when AC/DC, Aldo Nova, Van Halen and Rush were all considered to be Metal bands...lol It was absolutely amazing growing up with that music. Seemed like every couple of months you would be in the middle of an evolving genre. Still remember very clearly the first time I heard Reign In Blood that I absolutely hated it and within 6 months I "got" it and thought it was absolutely brilliant. That album taught me to give stuff more than just one listen before thinking something is complete shit which actually served me well in my life overall. Fuck, I love this music....lol

It was over in a flash and I thought, "what the hell was that??"

Link is broken. I just discovered this series. It's awesome. Thank you! Well, there was no link at all... forgot to add it to my original post [*LOL*]. But now there is... I am slowly becoming old and senile, I see... I am glad you've been enjoying reading these series... it was actually quite a lot of fun to do. And there will be 4 more to come at some point (at least for time being), so stay tuned for them too.

Yeah, I’m hoping to be able to squeeze those in somehow with my upcoming move (my place is going up for sale tomorrow).

Yeah, finding the time to put it online is another story at the moment with my dealing with my place being for sale. It takes several hours of work to format this stuff. Maybe I can pull it off Friday or Saturday is there isn’t too much craziness.

I just spent a week dealing with a sewer issue at my house (it was as pleasant as it sounds). The joys of home ownership!
I'll be working on part VII this weekend

Nice to see two more installments here! I was especially excited to see Chris Reifert made a contribution here. I forgot his age sometimes, and his record selections really showed his age. haha! AC/DC- Powerage was actually one of the first 5 records I ever owned actually, so it was funny seeing that on his list.
Gene Palubicki's selection from Perdition Temple is so great. He picked so many of my favorite records. I've actually never listened to Perdition Temple before. I probably should change that.
