Could have sworn we had this already. Oh well, no time like the present.
Just beat the Actual Final Boss For Real This Time in the new Binding of Isaac DLC. Genuinely shocked they gave it a happy ending.

I haven’t really been good about keeping up with games since I moved to China in 2018, but I too played The Binding of Isaac, quite honestly on a heavy addition level. I had beaten everything and collected everything on the latest version up to the latest dlc I believe. I haven’t tried that dlc though. I’m sure if I got it my bones would always ache to play when I’m away from it. Lol
I only play one game, and that is Eternal Card Game, which I started a little over a year ago since COVID began. I always loved Magic the Gathering and this is a way more generous copy of Magic, and I recommend any fan of Magic to play this one. There’s currently a ton of cards, seemingly endless deck building potential, and genuinely doable routes to getting all cards, unlike the stingy ecosystem of Magic the Gathering Arena.

Anyone who's familiar with computer games (well, I am not), may find this somewhat interesting as Jouni Valjakka from Whispered did all the music for the game: Vigil - The Longest Night.

Finally got Hotline Miami after playing a bit of it years ago. Despite some weird issues with the game's window (why are Steam achievements taking up half the screen? And I died), fun mix of strategy and mindless beserker rage.

And I died), fun mix of strategy and mindless beserker rage. Oh, I remember a few years ago when I still lived with my roommate during my Masters degree watching him play the first one. That game was brutal, so when I saw a sale on the second release I bought that one for my PS4. Wow, that game is dreadfully difficult. Made me want to stop playing shortly after starting. The music and atmosphere is really engaging though. Now that I don't really have much time or energy for games much other than perhaps 20 minutes a day on Eternal Card Game, I feel I'm unlikely to return to such games, but in my mind it would be really fun to revisit Hotline Miami. And The Binding of Isaac...that is easily a top 5 game for me. I've put more hours on Rebirth and Afterbirth than any other game out there.

Do not really have time for the huge immersive games - but had a lot of fun with Skyrim, when that came out.
I have a weak point for tower defence games though - currently playing Gemcraft, which is probably one the very best in that category.

Exactly what you said, just not time for those large games anymore. I also enjoyed Skyrim, enough that I finished it twice. I was slightly more in favor of the previous entry in the series, Oblivion, but Skyrim was the more polished game and I never actually finished Oblivion. It just felt better to me. The last big game I played was Witcher 3 on my Switch more than a year ago, which was equally engaging, with better voice acting and memorable scenes. If you haven’t played that yet and ever find time, that’s a solid game. I’m hoping I can return to it someday.

I actually gave Witcher 3 a go back in the holidays, when I had some days off. Must admit I found a little boring, probably too much pre-scripted storytelling for my taste.
(Don't get me wrong, I love storytelling, but I will read a book, if want that.)

I actually had two goes at Witcher 3 myself, first on PS4 several years ago. I was completely turned off by that game after a few hours and I eventually took it out and never played it again. The storytelling was also a bit of a turnoff for me as well. Fast forward a few years and I was bored one winter and they had just released a port of the game on Switch. I got really sold on the hype of the game for some reason and bought it again for my Switch this time. The combat and storytelling once again was a turnoff at the start, but this time I kept going simply based on all the insanely positive feedback from my friends and all media outlets. I got completely blown away by the game after about the first 15 hours. It turns out that it’s an incredible game and took some getting used to. Easily one of my favorite games now and I frequently wish I had time to replay it.

I plugged my PS4 back in and started my second playthrough of Persona 5. I have to say, although it mostly appeals to fans of anime and stuff that I typically don’t like, it’s actually a really great game. And I loved Persona 4 Golden, too. I wish I had my PS Vita with me in China. I’d totally play through Golden again if I had it.

Yesterday I returned to playing Magic the Gathering: Arena. I had dropped the game not long after I built my account and tried getting through tutorial stages and unlocking the free unlock able decks because the ecosystem for earning cards is quite stingy and the pace of games is a bit slower than with Eternal Card Game, the MtG copy that I've been playing since the beginning of Covid. I think the coming of the return to Kamigawa is what partly brought me back to try Magic the Gathering. I think I'll try to stick with it a little more this time, since I used to love Magic when I was in high school and also played a little in college.
I'm more invested in Eternal Card Game though. If anyone here likes Magic the Gathering, I cannot recommend Eternal Card Game highly enough. It was created by Magic champions, after all.
I'm also almost finished with Persona 5 and will soon be moving on to Shin Megami Tensei V, which I've never played before but recently bought and downloaded.

I hooked up my Nintendo Switch to the TV and dusted off the system. I started Shin Megami Tensei V last week. My first SMT game. It’s much darker than Persona 5, much like what I had read. Uses the same demons as Persona series, so there is a big crossover of content between these series. Overall, a pretty cool game so far, although I don’t like the sound design and the music tracks aren’t all that interesting to me, unlike with the Persona series. I’m also playing Rogue Legacy, a great roguelike indie game. I remember mjolnir talking about the Binding of Isaac, which is my favorite roguelike game and one of my favorites of all time actually, I wonder if you’ve played Rogue Legacy. It’s really good. And I’m a little bit obsessed with a music track from this game which very much sounds inspired by heavy metal, especially when the lead guitar riff comes in. The track was called “Narwal.”

And yes, I've played Rogue Legacy, and yes, it is pretty great. Kind of wish the classes felt more distinct, but it seems they fixed that for the new one that I've yet to play.
