(I think I'm the jinx; at the end of 2019, I said 2020 couldn't possibly be worse than 2019...). Don't feel bad, actually it is me. I sewed my MF In the Shadows patch onto my vest without having actually seen them yet.
I figured the show a sure thing, and its placement blocked for some others, so I thought what the hell.
Sorry world, my bad.

Oh? Then you have something to look forward.
A couple of my fave songs for a quick taste:
Procession:
Pale Divine:
Totally agree on Crypt Sermon! Like the first one best, but they are both great.
Thanks for sharing. I did my homework. I actually listened to the first full length of Pale Divine, "Thunder Perfect Mind" before listening to this one you posted. I prefer the material on the first album over that on the "Painted Windows Black" album, but all is good. I will definitely do a little more digging into the band. I think Procession's album there that you shared is a real gem. I love the feel of it, although I currently think it suffers from songs being drawn out just a little too long, which would be the only critique I'd really give it. It's otherwise a really great album.

Pale Divine; Yeah, their sound has evolved throughout the years. Of their earlier work Cemetery Earth is probably my favourite, but they are all good really.
I have been busy also and checked out Purification and Troll, thanks for the recommendations.
Troll I think is a pass - perfectly fine and like it well enough, but does not really stand out for me. Purification I like better, a little too much about atmosphere, but enough power & riffs also, so think I will have to get one of their albums of BC. Perfect Doctrine possibly..

Somehow I didn't see this until now. It's all good. The Troll album was not an immediate winner for me, but after several listens I just fell in love with it, especially the story being so bizarre and captivating. I found myself wanting to know if the whole lyric sheet was a story told completely in metaphoric language or if it was supposed to be taken as literally as possible. Either way, it's fantastic lyrics. Purification are definitely a more riff-forward band, and I love Perfect Doctrine. It's so dynamic, and the riffs are earworms. I still have not heard the previous Purification album, although it seems to be a well favored release as well.

Probably explains it then - I'm a "lyrics? - was there lyrics?" kind of guy.
I must admit that I usually do not pay much attention to the lyrics. (if at all.)
