This is pretty awesome trad/epic/fantasy metal actually... having one Yannis Papadopoulos on lead vocals.

Tribulation- The Children of the Night I still remember when this came out and although I must have rewatched the music video for “Strange Gateways Beckon” 30 times or more, I only listened to the whole album once or twice back then and shelved it for good. Today I unearthed it only because they’ve completely blown up all over Apple Music and I felt maybe I missed something since their later sound is so popular with metal fans. I loved their death metal stuff, and I find this new era of Tribulation like a watered down iteration of the band. But you know what? It’s so we’ll executed that I’m kicking myself for not investing more attention into them than I have. I now shall check out the most recent two albums.

Glacier: The Passing of Time This is just one of those albums where everything just clicks.
Realmbuilder: Summon the Stonethrowers Have not heard this in ages (stumbled upon it because there is a track with "Glacier" in the title). Strange little charmer of album, always liked it.

Doomsword: ST Continuing over in Doomsword: The Internal Battle.
I suddenly notice that it came out way back in 2011. Has it really been close to 10 frigging years already? I sincerely hope that we are (over)due for a new Doomsword relase.
Deathmaster said in an interview in 2018: "Therefore, I expect that completing the album is a matter of months." So fingers crossed that it will actually happen.

Tribulation-Down Below Tribulation-Where the Gloom Becomes Sound
They really leaned into the Goth on later releases. Thankfully, they're rather good at it.

Tribulation- Where the Gloom Becomes Sound I also checked this out because it’s quite hyped and all. I think for me it’s a small step down when compared with the previous two records, but it’s still pretty good overall. Just doesn’t stick with me as much as, especially Children of the Night.
Behemoth- The Satanist Had a bizarre desire to see if I agreed with various people who claim this the greatest album of the decade from which it was released. There are a number of albums that get called that. Eternal champion I’ve also seen named. I couldn’t say I believe The Satanist is so amazing, but it does have a certain charm. I just love the way it ends. That last track is so cool. And the production job is so impressive when you really stop and listen for it.

Battleroar- To Death and Beyond... Okay, I’d never heard this band until tonight. Holy shit! This is epic! The closer is so badass that it might be the best thing I’ve heard all year. I can’t stop thinking about it. Haha! I only checked the band out on my own due to having listened to the Sangreal album from 2018 that seems to have little to no buzz for a while. I linked Sangreal to Doomsword due to Sangreal’s singer being the singer on the self titled Doomsword album. He’s an incredible singer and I saw he also sang for Battleroar so I thought I’d try to hear him in Battleroar. I didn’t realize he never recorded an album with Battleroar until after I started listening to this album, but it doesn’t matter because this album is just badass. Wow.

Oh man - you had really not heard this? It IS an amazingly great album, one of my top favourites ever.
It is such an shame that this line-up dissolved after To Death and Beyond. (not that the next albums are bad - but this is just soo good.)
>>Sangreal’s singer being the singer on the self titled Doomsword album. Oh? Perhaps I should give Sangreal a listen then.

Mork-Katedralen Baest-Necro Sapiens Plague Weaver-Ascendant Blasphemy Wyrd-Vandraren Surgical Invasion-Aggression
Just a FYI on that Mork album. Someone bought ProTools. A HUGE step up in production. I always thought he had some good ideas but the production just always took me out. If you prefer that LoFi type production, you will be disappointed.
