Yeah, saw that. There goes the savings
I was a huge Bandcamp fanboy before all this went down, but have probably doubled my purchases during bc fridays this year. Lots of great music found - but also some, I should probably have listened more to before buying. Oh well.

Well, "we" don't save any money on those days, but the bands get all the money instead of Bandcamp taking their cut. Though some bands did run some "specials" sometimes, like the full discography at a discount, stuff like that.

Nah, it is not my intention to save money - I misspoke if it came out that way. I really like the idea that the bands get the majority from anything purchased there, that is the way it should be.
I have fallen into a grove of getting 5-10 albums/releases each time bc friday rolls around. I agonize over the wish list in the days leading up to it, trying to decide which to get this time around and then usually getting it done in the morning. (Before the US awakens and join the fun, whice means that response times become noticeable slower.)

My problem is that I already get a lot of stuff from labels, so there’s the issue of having time to listen to all that stuff! My Saccage binge a couple of weeks ago was the biggest one, I think.
Sometimes I’m tempted by a LP or t-shirt, but then the shipping cost is the equivalent of a mortgage payment. I did buy a Saccage LP (not on B.F.; they had a limited run that they made available a couple of weeks before that).

Time to (properly) listen to it all is a problem alright.
It seems like great bands are popping up all over the place these days - it is almost impossible to keep track and actually listen to more than a fraction of the worthwhile new stuff - not to mention delving into back catalogues of the bands I missed the first time around.
I have not bothered with year lists for some years, but am working on a 2020 one for the Best albums thread. And actually it has been very helpful to look back on the year and re-listen to it all.

I read some fanzines and also Metallian (French metal magazine) and despite getting hundreds of albums every year, I still find bands I've never heard of.
