I have those remasters. And Undead Indeed on both CD and DVD versions. Got to see Tarot live multiple times too. I never properly met Marco, but I've bumped into him at airports many times. I'm not the type to strike up conversation, but it's become a running joke with me and my wife. "There goes Marco Hietala again". One time I was just buying something off a kiosk in Vantaa, didn't look behind me, walked out and the wife says "yeah, so guess who was the next person behind you in line". I had no idea but without thinking I go "Marco Hietala?" and of course it was him. Stepped out right after me. I live in Vantaa and fly a lot. He was in Myötätuulirock in Vantaa one time also hanging out at a table next to ours with his (then) young kids, after a show. Great weather, sunshine, so why not come to where the fans are at. But of course it's Finland, so he was left in peace. People are cool like that. I don't imagine personal space like that is respected in, say, South America. The only Finnish celebrity I see "often" who gets swarmed by fans is Ville Valo. And even then it's only women who do that. Reasonable adults understand people need space. I did get Marco's autograph another time, but that's because it was an autograph session. So that's cool.

I did get Marco's autograph another time, but that's because it was an autograph session. So that's cool. I lived in the band's original hometown, Kuopio, for 5 years in the early nineties, so I got to know the guys pretty well back then. During weekends especially, they used to go to a small rock pub called "Desperado" very often to hang out, so I met the guys there multiple times during those years when I lived in Kuopio. Also, back then Tuple Salmela, 2nd keyboard player and vocalist of Tarot, used to work at "Desperado" as a bartender (Henry's Pub and Blueberry Hill were also pretty nice rock pubs at that time). I also remember when Kuopio celebrated its 100th anniversary at the Kuopio Hall, Tarot got a cool opportunity to play there for the invited crowd. The guys also knew that I used to carry a video camera around very often when I went to see some concerts, so they asked me whether I could film their whole show from the stage. Well, it was hard for me to turn such an offer down - and I believe that I still have that show on a VHS-tape somewhere (all my concert VHS-tapes would need be digitalized badly).

I would pay money for that tape.
Yeah, I also like Tuple. His solo album works because it's from the heart. Related to his tragic, yet very Finnish, from boyhood to manhood story.
Demon Alcohol, and this one, are great:

Not heard it yet, but are very much looking forward to it. I am in the "Decision Day was a late career masterpiece and the band owner must have had a brainfart the day he fired the ones who wrote it" camp. And have heard (read somewhere) that a lot of the ideas Bernemann had developed for the next Sodom album went into Bonded instead.
But have been a hectic day, so had not had a chance to actually sit down with it yet...

Oh, yeah, that was the impression I have gotten from reviews as well. Have not heard it yet, it was not under the tree, so will wait till I find it.
The bad news is that the Bonded album is not the Decision Day #2 either. (Not that I had really expected it to.)
It is good, but not great. One of those albums that you enjoy while listening, but can't really remember a song nor a riff from afterwards.

I need to get that book. I need other stuff from Cult Never Dies, so I’ll probably order all at once, but I think there are some restrictions on shipping at the moment.

Is bandcamp no longer doing the Friday thing where they give all the money to the artist? I need to get the new Briton Rites CD. If not, I will probably just reach out to Howie on FB

If not, I will probably just reach out to Howie on FB They skipped January (probably because it was New Year's Day). It'll be back on the first Friday of February. I think they're doing it until May (that could still change, I guess). I'm also waiting for that day to get the album. I thought of ordering the CD, but the shipping is insane.

I just ordered Briton Rites Occulte Fantastique on CD. Shipping was only $5, probably because it is within the US.
