... writing reviews of old Ozzy albums that are missing from the site (Blizzard of Ozz, Bark at the Moon)
That is not a bad way to spend a saturday

Is it just me, or has the number & frequency of new reviews not increased a lot lately?
metalcrypt - what are you feeding the team these days?

metalcrypt - what are you feeding the team these days? I'll need compensation before I increase my output willingly Either that, or we need to start recruiting

Most people can’t be bothered. I had one inquire a few weeks ago. I replied I never heard back. And it’s not like we’re getting physical CDs and stuff like that anymore so, unless you do it for fun, there isn’t much incentive.

If they want to eat, they have to write. You are a harsh master We are beholden to our metal master.
I reviewed the Ozzy albums because they were missing from the site and I found a few more "holes" that will be plugged soon. It was nice to listen to some familiar records after so much new music recently.
My output has increased because of working at home. I can have my music on most of the day whereas in the office, I'd probably be the subject of an exorcism.

I pretty much have 2 times a day I listen to music if I'm not driving anywhere, otherwise I'd likely have way more reviews up by now.

Yeah, can imagine that would not go down well.
Strangely enough I have never been that crazy about Ozzy's solo work - and Blizzard is pretty far down the ladder for me. The next two was better, Diary in particular. But I stand rather alone with that view I think.

I tend to listen to review albums 3-4 times to have a concrete opinion, more if I really like it or need more time to sink in, less if I just hate it. My compulsive need to tell people about what I listen to helps with that as week.

I used to listen to music at the office, but of course there were interruptions. At home I can listen to music without interruptions (I have very few meetings) and no need for headphones. Kind of fun getting back into the Sacrifice albums. It had been a while since I listened to them. Same for Aria, for that matter.

Can you guys really listen to new music and still concentrate on getting work done? For me I work best when it is either familar and/or somewhat simple music that plays in the background.

Hahaha, I cannot get work done while listening to music. It’s either I work and tune out the music or the other way around for me. For me, work gets done best when there is a warm cup of coffee within reach.

Most of the time. Of course, sometimes I get so concentrated that I have no idea what I'm listening to. It helps drown out distracting noises from within the building or from the street as well.
