Training Day Mostly carried by Denzel Washington's performance, but still pretty good.

THX 1138
What a mess. I realize it was a statement against consumerism but that undercurrent really didn't make it through. I didn't realize a lot of the announcements were telling people to "buy and be happy" so it just seemed like a weird, dystopian world with no rhyme or reason.

That's the 1971 movie?

That's the 1971 movie? Yeah. Oddball George Lucas film from back when he was particularly artsy and weird.

Heard about it a million times but had never seen it. To Mjolnir's point, he was fresh out of school and still artsy and weird. I was particularly annoyed by the fact that he's gone back and "fixed" some of the special effects. I was thinking some of the creatures looked pretty sophisticated for 1971 then looked up on IMDb to see that he couldn't resist a little CGI.

Not a movie, but are almost through the Death, Love & Robots series on Netflix. Not much into animated, but this one is quite good actually.

I thought there were some very entertaining installments in that first series. I particularly liked Three Robots, The Witness, When the Yogurt Took Over, and The Dump

Not crazy about The Dump, but the others are sound choices. Beyond the Aquila Rift was also great.

Not a movie but Brian Regan's new standup on netflix was actually better than I expected. I loved his old stand up albums back in the day and used to listen to them on long drives coming home from shows in Minneapolis. Best remedy for being tired at 1 am and still 3 hours from the house.

I love Brian Regan and have seen him live multiple times. I didn’t think the material in this special was his best stuff but it had it’s funny moments.

I felt the same but it was worth the watch especially if you are a fan. I still quote some of his old standup "yay, my favorite sports team! Score the goal units!" Current favorite is Bill Burr or Jim Jeffries. Anthony Jeselnik is also really damn funny. All of these you have to really like dark comedy though...they can be pretty brutal....lol

Heavy Metal in Baghdad Vice doc from way back in 2007 about the band Acrassicauda and their struggles in Iraq I watched for research purposes. Something about the people behind the doc rubs me the wrong way, but the stuff with the actual band talking about their lives and struggles makes it worth the watch.

Im a sucker for documentaries and especially music docs.
