I was thinking about this the other day when listening to some Sentenced vinyl I was able to track down via Discogs. Would love to see Sentenced make a comeback. Their albums still hold up and would love to hear some new stuff.
What band(s) would you love to see reform that actually could? I mean I would love to hear new music from Dio or Motorhead but of course that would take some hardcore witchcraft to pull off....lol

I’m wondering if I’ve ever heard Sentenced.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Hanker get back together, but having seen them at their last show (I think that was their last) back in 2010, I doubt that will happen.

Im sure you have. Probably dont remember with the thousands of albums you have heard by now...lol
This song is of The Cold White Light album. This album is incredibly good but you really cant go wrong with any of them. They started out a straight up death metal band but morphed into what you hear hear pretty quickly. I thought they were OK as a death metal band on the albums North From Here and Shadows of the Past but starting with Amok and Love and Death they changed it up and in my opinion became infinitely better. Funny thing is At The Gates gets a lot of credit for starting Melodic Death Metal with Slaughter of the Soul but Shadows of the Past came out a solid 4 years earlier.

Looks like I do have The Cold White Light. I must have bought that around the time of release, I guess.

Miika wrote most of Sentenced's material, so I don't think the band's comeback will ever happen. But back for the topic itself. I certainly would like to see Finland's Heavy Metal dinosaurs Tarot doing a new album and returning back on the stages again. I know it's hard to replace the band's drummer Pecu (R.I.P.), but I guess not completely impossible though...

VERY consistent band...dont think they ever released a bad album.

Can't really think of many actually - most bands I hold dear are still active - or so old and/or dead that it is not possible (nor desirable).
Am tempted to say The Lamp of Thoth - but Arkham Witch are there and are not stingy with playing Lamp material.
Mercyful Fate for sure - should have seen them at one of the reunion concerts last year, but you know what blew that.

Which means a double dose of King Diamond this year as he is slated for a his own release this year as well.

I have a feeling that if King Diamond would have to choose whether to focus on Fate or his main band, Fate would be left by the roadside in a hurry. We will have to wait and see what happens.

Never know though as Covid may work in the opposite direction. Since bands werent touring for the last year Im willing to bet a lot of stuff was being written.

The last Mercyful Fate album was in 1999 (also the only time I saw the band live) and he kind of left it aside for King Diamond after that. But, man, it’s also been a long time since the last King Diamond album.

Last I knew, King lived in Texas and there weren't a lot of restrictions there to begin with so maybe he's got KD and MF albums up his evil little sleeve

Last news I heard, not that long ago (six months max), was that he was working on both.
