I can imagine this thread dying fast, but hopefully it can be more fun or interesting than I imagined. In the past I always hated watching Youtube videos of live band performances. I think the reality is that I was just seeing a lot of rough footage that wasn't very interesting to watch. And then I watched the video of Pantera playing "Domination" in Russia or something, that mega famous live video that I bet a lot of you have seen. I have watched that video a ton of times, and I don't really even think the song is all that good. But the video just feels really cool to watch, especially when they get to that breakdown at the end with Dimebag soloing over it, V Paul pounding those drums, and the crowd just going nuts. I get goosebumps every time I watch that video. Hahaha!
Then recently I started stumbling across other really good live videos. About two years ago or so I got deeply into Traveler, and then I found this video and I love this so much. After a while I realized that the guitar work is a little sloppy live at times, and more than a few missed notes. But the vibe and stage presence is real and really fun to experience, even I'm not there. I'll share that video here.
But the idea I have here is simple. Post any really great live metal performances here. I found more and more enjoyment from watching them recently. Sometimes it helps me to appreciate a band I didn't care much for, even.

First off the top of my head is this drum cam of Mark Zonder. It's hell trying to keep up with all the shit he does with a drum kit.

Oh wow, looks like I've got some great viewing ahead of me after the gym tonight. Thanks for posting some nice videos! I hope this thread can be lively. After all, we live now in an age with Covid, so sometimes this is as close as people can get to a live show. To be honest, I never go to shows anyway, as it doesn't align with my life and schedules. The fact that I played violin with Trans Siberian Orchestra for a few concerts was just very lucky timing. haha
The downside of this thread is that I live in China and all Youtube videos posted show up as a blank space. But I can work around it. Thanks for posting, guys~. Share more if you have any fun ones!

This is my personal favorite live performance from the mighty Priest... so fuckin' energetic and violent performance-wise, and the whole band just reeked of 100% pure heavy fuckin' metal...!!!

No heavy metal concert video would be complete without (arguably) the best metal live recording ever...Iron Maiden - Live After Death

The Live After Death video is not viewable here. But I have the DVD. Guess there are some tradeoffs to living in the US. You get medical coverage but we get access to Iron Maiden on Youtube...USA USA USA That DVD was probably cheaper than a trip to the doctor though....

This will certainly be on my personal bucket list regarding forthcoming gigs in the future... To see Paul Di'Anno himself in flesh and blood with his Maiden "cover" band doing songs off both the Iron Maiden and Killers albums. Now that would be neat, I believe...!!!
