Ooooh... I haven’t listened to that Mayhem album in a while. Next on the playlist. NP: Hammerfall - Glory to the Brave (“I Believe” rules, bitch! )

Septagon - We Only Die One
one time through and I'm not impressed. Lots of bashing and kinda lame lyrics. More to come.

Iron Maiden- Somewhere in Time Alright, gotta admit, this one didn't do much for me over the years, but right now this one has really gone up in value for me. I love how imaginative it feels in comparison to other albums. It has a particularly unique sound to my ears that isn't shared with the previous albums, sometimes feeling a bit more soft in my ears, but at the same time, still has the cracking whip of Dickinson's fierce delivery at times. The songs here are way better than I remember them, and this is now one I'm considering as a top 3 Maiden album for me. Last time I heard it, I was still living in Arizona around maybe 2015, so yeah, been a while. While the closing track is still a top favorite song for me, I am annoyed with the directionless meandering in the middle of the song. Oh well. The song itself still rules.

Mayhem - Live in Leipzig
Man, they really lived up to their name with their performance
Now when you mentioned that, I have a tribute feature for Per Yngve Ohlin aka "Dead" of Mayhem coming up for the site. It will be exactly 30 long years on April 8, 2021, since he decided to leave this (rotten) planet and move somewhere else in this vast universe. NP: Death Kommander - Pro Patria Mori (if you like Bolt Thrower, then I urge you to check this out)

Iron Maiden- No Prayer for the Dying Yikes, first time to hear it, it didn’t feel so great. It’s truly not a bad album, as their execution of what they went for here was pretty solid. But these songs just don’t work for me at all. I might be able to save one song from this album that I’d put on an eternal Maiden playlist. Going through this discography, this moment feels like Judas Priest’s follow up to Painkiller. The only difference is that I personally think Jugulator was garbage and No Prayer for the Dying is acceptable, just different. Some of it is fun in a way, but some of it was also a bit cheesy in my opinion. Lol

The Crown - Cobra Speed Venom Looking forward to their new album on friday, but a bit torn on the singles they have released so far. I found Cobra Speed Venom extremely impressive, which was surprising for me because I tend to find their style a bit boring now that I've heard so much melodic death/thrash of their variety. Something about that album packed quite a unique punch. I'm totally with you on this new album's released singles. I didn't feel much high expectation from those singles. I'm prepared for a letdown, but sometimes those singles are the worst parts of a new album. haha

Yeah, I think their newer releases have been a bit hit and miss, but CSV was fucking great. I am a big fan of their earlier stuff (Deathrace King in particular) and I think their previous one was pretty much in line with those early albums. But yeah, I agree with you, singles can be pretty horrible although I can definitely see where they are going with Motordeath.
OT:
THRON - Pilgrim Stälker - Black Majik Terror

I have to revisit Cobra Speed Venom (can’t call it CSV, to me that means comma-separated values ). I had forgotten about it but I seem to recall really liking it. The new one, not so much. It has its moments, but that’s about it.

Hellripper - The Affair of the Poisions
One of the most underrated releases from last year. Blackened speed metal that fucking rips.
BÜTCHER - 666 Goats Carry my Chariot
Silly title but it kicks ass.

I'm a bit nervous about The Crown album as well. Was really looking forward to it but none of the singles impressed me at all. Got the vinyl on preorder so one way or another I will own it...lol

I never really got into Moonsorrow, but it’s been years. Might be time to revisit...
