Pan-Amerikan Native Front- Little Turtle's WarBlack/Thrash that incorporates Native American forms. Killer shit. Summoning- Old Morning's DawnJust learned that people hating on mid-period Summoning is not uncommon, so revisiting this to remind me they are just lesser human beings. Oath Bound and Old Morning's Dawn are great, epic black metal
And I've really come around on those early Venom albums. I did a phone interview with Cronos back when Calm Before the Storm came out and he was so pleasant, not at all what I was expecting LOL

Memoriam- To the End I wasn’t sure I should spend the time on it or not given that I wasn’t really that big on previously released material. I’m also not a big Bolt Thrower fan, which probably doesn’t help me much here as well. That being said, this album has some great moments but so far I don’t feel so different about this one compared to earlier stuff. Not likely to spend much more time on it. It’s a good death metal album but I wouldn’t say a great one.
Asphyx- Necroceros Although I don’t think Drunen’s vocals sound that great now (compared to The Rack, he sounds quite different now.), this album really does go beyond expectations for me. There are some not so interesting moments, but actually most of it is great, and possesses a powerful energy. Really great late career release.
Monument- Hair of the Dog It may sound like a straight up ripoff of Maiden’s earlier work with Dickinson, but I don’t care. Great tunes with a great classic sound.
Vulture- Ghastly Waves & Battered Graves I’m soon to write a review on this one. This is such an unforgiving strike of Speed/Thrash Metal that really shouldn’t be missed. Their vocalist sounds so insane and the mix and instrument performances here are just so special. Did I mention there are a ton of riffs? That’s my kind of release!

Summoning-As Echoes from the World of Old So it seems this EP was only released as part of a special edition of With Doom We Come, hence why I never heard of it until recently. Production could be better, but despite only being 2 songs, I like it better than the album it was stapled onto.

Vulture- The Guillotine During the time I was writing my review for their 2019 album, I decided to revisit this album. The band sure are consistent, that's for sure. I really enjoy the feel of this band, and I'm so excited to have just learned that they'll have a new album this year.
Rude- Remnants... An old school death metal styled album that ACTUALLY sounds old school, unlike the mass of "old school death metal" revival bands that don't really sound old school. This album sounds like a mixture of early Pestilence and early-mid era Morbid Angel had a baby, especially with that Drunen style vocal.

Solemn Echoes-Into the Cold Depths of Sorrow Decent Funeral Doom that's kept from being better than that with weak vocals and keyboards.
Black Sabbath-Dehumanizer First time listening to this one. I don't think it lives up to its hype, but it's a damn good album nonetheless.

Haunt- Beautiful Distraction This one just released. I have always had a very mild level of interest in Haunt due to their generally light handed approach to heavy metal. But with time, any of their releases really do grow on me a bit. The previous album especially worked well for me. This new one starts with a rather dull song in my opinion, but the impressive fret work in the solos and other nice guitar moments throughout the album really do allow this album to shine. I’m on my second playthrough at the moment.

Wheel- Preserved In Time A new Doom Metal release I just started listening to on Apple Music. I'm new to this band, and only a couple tracks in, but I like the guitars a lot on what I've heard so far. Vocals are also quite fine, not weak by any means, so that's a bonus. As for the songs, I feel some bits are more repetitive than they should be, so that is a slight sticking point for me already. However, a lot of Doom works that way, and after a few listens works out positively for that. I guess that is what I'll search for in time.

Sacred Oath - Return of the Dragon
This had better be an improvement over the last one.

Have the player on shuffle - last ten songs were
Rituals of the Oak: hour of judgement Testament: Deadline Iron Hearse: Ghost Image Guns N' Roses: Chinese Democracy Visigoth: Fireseeker Amon Amarth: Destroyer of the Universe Rage: What's Up? Edguy: Lavatory Love Machine Hellwell: Acheronomicon I: Tomb of the Unnamed One Pale Divine: Saints Of Fire
Shuffle is always fun, a mix of good stuff, forgotten stuff and even sometimes never before listened to stuff.

Sometimes I get the Amazon speakers (Echo/Alexa) shuffling Spotify playlists when I’m cleaning. All four are synchronized, so I don’t skip a beat.
