Metal Lords (new movie on Netflix)
I wasn't expecting much, in fact I didn't quite know what it was about. Lots of humour as two high school kids are trying to put together their metal band. Mostly good soundtrack.

I Spit On Your Grave (original) Well, that was every bit as unpleasant as I was expecting, albeit better put together. I guess it's an interesting commentary on how people who commit monstrous acts get to lead perfectly normal lives after destroying people, but I can't help but feel that doesn't justify how grotesque it was.

I saw it a few years ago. Pretty heavy stuff for the time.

As far as unpleasant filming experiences go, you're better off watching the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre. OT: Everything Everywhere All At Once There are scenes where a rock with googly eyes chases another rock, and they end up being some of the most emotionally resonant I've seen in modern cinema for a while. Fucking masterwork.

The Northman
Probably the most metal movie I've ever seen. Fucking loved it.

Saw RRR in Netflix. Very rarely seen a movie that movies as hard as this movie, and damn me for missing it when it was playing at my local theater. Among the year's best, and when you rival shit like Everything Everywhere All at Once, it's fair to call you a masterwork.

Top Gun: Mavericks
Beats the first movie hands down.

Top Gun: Mavericks Beats the first movie hands down. Low bar, but good to hear since I'm taking family to see it tomorrow. OT: Morbius Watched this at 420p at a choppy framerate over a shitty livestream with friends, the optimal way to watch this film. The exact kind of bad that only occurs when an already terrible movie is butchered in editing by a studio that desperately wants to chuck it into theaters in the hopes of making money, but you already knew that.

Yeah, back in the '80s all that flying was impressive to us teenagers, but it hasn't aged well at all and the whole love story and melodrama was taking up way too much time and kind of broke the flow. I tried watching it again a few months ago and couldn't go through with it. This one has more action. Still a love story in there, but not nearly as annoying as in the first movie.

Jackass Forever
Way too much nut damage in this one for me. Yikes!

Mad God Well, this is a fascinating piece of odd, nihilistic stop motion art. Pretty great.
The Sadness Basically a hyper violent, less intelligent version of The Crazies. Worth watching if you're into that kind of thing, though outside of a couple of uncomfortable scenes, it's not as shocking as it seems to think it is.

Spiderhead
Interesting. One of those movies where they experiment on people with some mind-controlling drugs.

The Contractor
Sad to say, looks like Chris Pine and Kiefer Sutherland are the latest entries in actors doing shitty movies to make ends meet. Hopefully just a one-off. The movie has its moments, but it's overall a let down. The story did have potential.
