Choosing Death: The Improbable History of Death Metal & Grindcore
I got this when I got Blood Fire Death: The Swedish Metal Story (just reviewed). Hopefully this is a good one too.

Joe Abercrombie is awesome IMO. How is the new series?

I started reading novels with a fantasy series (The Belgariad) some 30 years ago.
Starting Find Yuri (Fury Trilogy Book 1) today.
I started reading a book last night only to find out that was just a small free sample. Not the first time I get caught like this.

It's great. A Little Hatred was a bit slower as it put the pieces on the board, but The Trouble With Peace hit the ground running from the first page. Abercrombie might be my favorite living fantasy author. He's just never let me down.

Agree, Abercrombie is one of the best authors around. I will wait for the last volume before starting it, really looking forward to it.

I read mainly comics but I do listen to audio books when/if I am enjoying a cigar. That being said that Rob Halford one is great. Where Bruce rarely discussed anything personal at all in his book, Rob has no limits...lol

I’m reading “Animal Kingdom”. Animals revolt and attack and kill humans. The story revolves around a small group that barricaded itself in a building at a zoo.

Thats almost like a comic series Ive been reading called Animosity. Middle of the first issue something happens and all of a sudden all the animals in the world can suddenly speak. At first i was thinking it was going to be a "meat eaters are horrible people" kind of preachy thing but its actually got a deeper story. Really well done.

I’m back to reading Metalion: The Slayer Mag Diaries. This is a huge and contains all issues of Slayer Magazine (at least I don’t think he did any new issue after this). I found out today that he had a stroke recently. He seems to be OK. Phew!
Also reading some magazines like Metallian (French metal mag) and Metalegion. The latter has reviews that are (1) way too long and (2) some written by people with bad English, but it’s OK overall. The first two issues are free to download on their web site.
I need to get some newer issues of Slowly We Rot out of Romania. I finished both of the ones I bought back in 2018.

Confessions Of A Heretic: The Sacred And The Profane: Behemoth And Beyond
A biography of Nergal of Behemoth fame. It's in an interview format, so it's a little weird. Just started it yesterday.

Some recent reads:
Malice by John Gwynne Valor by John Gwynne Beowulf translation by Seamus Heaney Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett Men at Arms by Terry Pratchett Small Gods by Terry Pratchett
Also doing another read through of the Invincible comic series to celebrate the animated adaptation on Amazon Prime. Easily my favorite non-DC/Marvel superhero title along with Hellboy.

That guy must have a pretty notorious reputation in Finland... Did he burn some churches down in Finland back in the day in the name of " false death metal gods" or something?
