Maybe they use different PR reps for some releases.

Ian Highhill-Man in White Commercial Heavy/Doom from that guy in Olympus Mons. Not bad.
Pharaoh-Bury the Light To prepare for the new album. I will be shocked if it can compare to this, though.
Flames of Hell-Fire and Steel Dirty 80s Black/Thrash from Iceland of all places, something akin to Venom if they had Tim Baker on vocals. It's sloppy and dirty almost to the point of just being noise, and it fucking rules.

I'm quite curious what you think of that new Wheel album. I have only listened through it 3 times, but I have a hard time deciding if I think it's great or just good. I love the guitar work on this album, and vocals are pretty nice overall. Somehow there really just isn't anything that keeps me wanting to listen to it again and again though.

It isn't the usual direct Black Sabbath or Candlemass doom. I guess they sound like Solitude Aeturnus, according to Sargon's review, but I was never in to them so that's not an issue for me.

Some thrash metal while working out: Killing: Toxic Asylum Infrared: Saviours Infrared: Back to the Warehouse I don’t often see Infrared mentioned. I saw them a lot at local shows in 2018 and 2019 as they opened for a lot of bands. In fact, it was after reviewing them in June 2018 that I saw they were playing live a few weeks later (opening for Black Mass) that I started going to shows again after a six-year hiatus.

Virgin Steele- The Book of Burning First entry into the band. Probably not the best one as the first part of Petreus (spelling? I’m lazy right now) sounded better. However, I like the band’s general sound a lot. I ought to check out more but damn these run times... gotta have more time set aside for this.
Inoculation- Celestial Putridity These death metal youngsters from Ohio are getting better and better! I’m eager to review this one. The music here really does stuff to stand out, but perhaps a slightly more punchy production would help bring it to higher heights. Musically it kinda matches the celestial album cover without sounding like one of those tech death bands with fretless bass. Speaking of bass, I wish I heard it more here...
Exhorder- Slaughter in the Vatican I really don’t know why I avoided this band for so long. This is quality thrash with a Pantera feel. Haha, after doing some history homework, I learned this band likely influenced Pantera. Huh, that’s pretty cool!
Herzel- Le Dernier Rempart I remember seeing this getting some attention and I forgot to check it out. I got in a playthrough earlier and it was nice, if only slightly underwhelming at times given the song structure set ups that they had. It’s probably one of those cases where multiple listens is make it sound better and better though.

Attacker: Giants of Canaan
Mercyful Fate: In the Shadows Mercyful Fate: Melissa
I have a really mixed relationship with MF; Great music, but really not a fan of falsetto vocals.

Hahaha, I can really relate. I too don’t really find falsetto so appealing. That being said, his approach is just not a common sound and therefore it’s somewhat refreshing to hear sometimes. And absolutely, killer music! He had some incredible lineups behind his projects!

Oh? Thought I was more or less alone in that. He had some incredible lineups behind his projects! Well, Mercyful Fate was not a King Diamond project. As I understand it, one of the reasons they fell apart so relatively early on, was because he wanted to make it into one. Which is too bad IMO.
