Antti Martikainen-Northern Steel My understanding is that this guy did a lot of soundtrack music before incorporating Metal on this release. Not sure I'd say it's strictly Metal, and the original version of this would be way too long, but as a double disc it's really cool.
Sangre Negra-El Vuelo del Condor Negro Amateurish First Wave Black Metal that's not exactly good, but it sure is entertaining.

Rapture- Malevolent Demise Incarnation Wow, somehow I missed this one despite luxi’s spot-on review of it not so long ago. Was cruising through new releases on Apple Music and was shocked to find I missed this release. Their previous album was one of my top 5 albums of that year, so I’m beyond excited to stumble across this album. As Luxi said, this stuff isn’t original, but that shouldn’t be a criticism here, as this is Death/Thrash on a very fine level. Excellent stuff.

Slayer-Seasons in the Abyss Once again tried to understand what people see in this one. Didn't go well.
Black Pyramid-Black Pyramid Top notch Sabbathine Doom
Black Cilice-Banished from Time Killer Black Metal that understands being raw doesn't mean you can't have a startling degree of melody.

Even though a friend in high school played Show No Mercy all the time and I bought Reign in Blood when it came out, I'm a late-comer to Slayer and I really don't dig much after South of Heaven. Repentless was pretty good but the first three are what do it for me, personally.

Im a big fan of Seasons. I thought the album continued and took a step forward from what they did on South of Heaven. Added some groove to it. If a Slayer album could be considered catchy and more commercially viable, I think Seasons is that record.

I think Seasons in the Abyss is fine, although it doesn't slay nearly as hard as the albums before it. I mostly like the opener, "War Ensemble," since it keeps the high energy of earlier releases. The other stuff is fine too, but "War Ensemble" is the highlight for me. As for which of the first three albums I think is the best though, my answer changes all the time. All three of those are incredible.

Goat Sanctuary-Cthonic I don't know what goats have to do with Cthulhu, but this is kind of middling.
Judas Priest-Rocka Rolla Guess I'm doing a discog run since it's June. Not very into blues rock, so this doesn't do it for me, but it's alright.
Judas Priest-Sad Wings of Destiny Man, the jump in quality from the debut is nuts. Not everything works, but the highs are really fucking high.

Judas Priest-Sin After Sin Better than the debut, worse than Sad Wings, still not a big fan.
Judas Priest-Stained Class I recall being lukewarm on this the last time I listened to it, but frankly, I judged it too harshly, as this is pretty great.
Nothing Sacred-Deathwish Apparently a cult classic of the Australian Thrash scene. Got the promo for their comeback album, and if it's anything like this Priest-tinged Thrash, it will have been worth the wait.

Stained Class did not do much for me on first listen, but it grew on me a lot after a few listens. “Better by You...” seems not that impressive a song to me but for some reason it really gets lodged into my mind once I hear it. Haha

Haha Could be because it's technically a cover. Always fascinates me how we're often more familiar with cover versions of older rock songs than the originals.

That Megadeth debut really kicks ass but it’s the Nancy Sinatra cover of “These Boots” that stood out the most for me.

Diamond Head: Lightning to the Nations 2020 The beefed up sound in this re-recording really makes a difference. Have a newfound appreciation of this album.
Glacier: The Passing of Time One of the very best HM albums to come out in recent years. Utterly hope they will tour this in europe once the plague years is past us.

Black Sabbath- Heaven and Hell I don’t know what comes over me but every year there’s always a period of time in which I get wildly obsessed with Black Sabbath’s finer records, and this one always gets a ton of plays from me. Not that we must rank Black Sabbath records, but seriously, there are so many great ones, it’s so hard to pick a top favorite. I’m infinitely impressed by Heaven and Hell, Tyr, the debut, and Master of Reality, and any day of the week one of those is my favorite and the next day it’s a different one.
