Judas Priest-Hell Bent for Leather I remembered this being lame, but holy hell it's so freaking lame. The best song is a cover, which is never a good sign to me.
Judas Priest-British Steel This is much better, but still doesn't do much for me. First 3 tracks rule, everything else is middling.
Nothing Sacred-No Gods Welp, this is a lame comeback. Traded their old energy for something more laid-back and rockish, which was not a very good idea.

Black Sabbath- Heaven and Hell I don’t know what comes over me but every year there’s always a period of time in which I get wildly obsessed with Black Sabbath’s finer records, and this one always gets a ton of plays from me. Not that we must rank Black Sabbath records, but seriously, there are so many great ones, it’s so hard to pick a top favorite. I’m infinitely impressed by Heaven and Hell, Tyr, the debut, and Master of Reality, and any day of the week one of those is my favorite and the next day it’s a different one. Have listened to a few BS records myself the past week - Sabotage posts was suddenly all over my fb, so got the urge to listen to that, and moved on to Vol 4 & Sabbath Bloody Sabbath from there.
Totally agree - having just one favourite Black Sabbath album is sort of impossible.

Judas Priest-Screaming for Vengeance I'm still not as big on this as other people, but after consecutively listening to the previous three albums, I fully understand why this one got so big.
Judas Priest-Defenders of the Faith Man, this would easily be in their top 3 if the second half were as good as the first. Second half still good, though.
Judas Priest-Turbo Well, it's not as awful as I remembered it being. I wouldn't call it good, but I'd take it over Hell Bent, I think. This is at least interesting, for better or (more often) worse.
Windhand-Eternal Return Stoner Doom with female vocals. I have said everything about it, but at least some of the riffs are good.

Ty Morn- Istor Sometimes Apple Music does funny things for me. This time it led me from Sangreal (just finished a review for their album) to this one. Once I heard the whole first track it led me to, I couldn't help but add it to my playlist as it was just a bizarre-sounding "Epic Heavy Metal" band. I'm not sure how much I feel that subgenre tag fits, but now I'm intrigued. The vocalist has a powerful delivery in some places, while sounding a bit common at other moments. Guitars are really good. Strange musical choices occurring off and on here are giving me feelings of uncertainty, but the talents are definitely there. Gonna ride this one out and see how it goes. I have a feeling I'll be listening to this album a few times. haha

The writing is sometimes a bit wild in that they kinda throw a lot at you unlike the standard greats of epic heavy metal. Also, I later saw this one has been reviewed already by MetalMike, I just hadn’t ever heard of them myself so I thought I’d stumbled upon a big secret. Haha

Judas Priest-Ram it Down About how I remembered it, two good songs with filler and crap for the rest.
Judas Priest-Painkiller PAIN! PAIN! KILLAAAHHH! KILLAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
Pulverazor-Swamp Demon Stomp Fun single of dirty NWOBHM with wacked-out high-pitched vocals and killer guitar work.
Judas Priest-Jugulator Why am I doing this to myself?
Judas Priest-Demolition Seriously, why am I doing this to myself? Do I hate myself so much that I think that putting up with this is a worthy punishment for some past crime?

The first six Sabbath records with Ozzy all have their strong points and the two Dio albums are great. I've not delved into the Iommi solo records that always got released under the Sabbath banner by the labels but I understand there's good music to be had.
Almost every Priest record is uneven with some truly great songs and some lame filler. I've never been a huge Screaming for Vengeance fan, either, more of a Sad Wings/British Steel/Defenders fan. And I will be going to see them on their 50th anniversary tour since they are playing about three miles from my house. How can I pass that up?
OT
Vincent Crowley - Beyond Acheron This is some good shit right here

Uneven is a great word to describe Judas Priest records on average. That being said, I personally love every inch of Screaming for Vengeance. Painkiller is still my favorite though. I also like every track on it, although "Metal Meltdown" was a song I used to think was absolutely lame. That chorus is kinda lame in my head at least. However, I grew to love that song as well.
