Was all set to see Priest and Queensryche on 4/4 but apparently Halford was sick and the show was canceled. I've seen both many times before but both were playing sets of mainly early material so I hope they swing back around but it doesn't look promising

This past week, I caught Green lung on Wednesday and Primordial on Thursday.
Both great concerts, but Green lung in particular was unexpectedly impressive. They will go places if they continue like this.

Last weekend I went back home (would have been easier not to move, really) to see Outre-Tombe, Occult Burial and a couple of other bands I didn't know. That was cool. Saw some people I hadn't seen since 2019. Outre-Tombe totally crushed it. I had been trying to see them for a while, either I couldn't go or things got cancelled.
Next shows on the agenda (maybe) are Drowning in Blood (opening for a couple of rock/pop bands, not sure what's up with that) and maybe a Dio tribute. After that, Voivod on June 1st.

Just got back from Houston today after flying there to see the Bay Strikes Back Tour and Hell's Heroes. If you get a chance to catch the Bay tour, dont hesitate. I paid $29 for the ticket and that low cost and how insanely good the show was, it is in my top 5 of best shows ever attended. All three bands just went balls out thrash from beginning to end. No filler at all. Pit was insane the entire time.
Hell's Heroes was an incredible lineup from the pre party through both days. Highlights included Midnight, Riot V, Candlemass, Dark Angel, Bewitcher, Night Demon, High Spirits, Traveller and the incredible Lord Weird Slough Feg who I got the album signed by and even got a pic with Mike Scalzi. Got to admit, I was pretty fan boyish when meeting him. Felt kind of like the SNL sketch where Chris Farley meets famous people....lol

I think the Bay Tour is hitting Montreal toward the end of summer.

Saw Nervosa and Destruction in Montreal last weekend. Missed the first two bands on purpose (standing for two bands is enough). Good stuff. Nervosa are really good live. Destruction still crush live. I think it was my fourth time seeing them.

Seeing Nervosa and Destruction this Sunday at Wildwood in Iowa City. Making my wife and daughters go even though they dont like metal. Bigger question is what are the chances that I could be a groupie for Nervosa? lol
I would like to get the new vinyl from them both signed. I dont suppose Destruction sticks around and talks to fans?

I wanted to be a groupie. lol. I got the vinyl from Nervosa. I already had Destruction (through Amazon, I think). Destruction only had CDs. My legs and feet were killing me, so I couldn't wait to get out of there and I left as soon as the show was over (barely survived the 2km walk to my hotel). I don't know if Destruction stuck around. Everyone I know was leaving so I can't check. I believe they were playing Toronto the next day, so I figure they probably didn't stick around for too long.

I think the Bay Tour is hitting Montreal toward the end of summer. dont hesitate to go....it is a fantastic show and you honestly couldnt ask for a better setlist. It's a Friday, so that's good. And I just realized, I think I'm off that day. A few friends of mine are going. I should check for tickets now. A childhood friend I haven't seen in years and isn't doing too well is going to Nightwish this Friday and, even though I haven't followed the band since late 2000, I figured I could go to hang out with him. Turns out all remaining tickets are resale, and Ticketbastard is in the business of reselling now, so even though there's a good amount of tickets left, they're all massively overpriced. Wouldn't want to have to deal with that for the Bay Tour.

Dont know about canada but I got my tickets by buying direct from who the bands were using so got my ticket for $29. Figured that was an insanely good deal. When I first looked using an app like Bandsintown and the like, they were almost three times that much. Doing a little digging through the band website I was able to find the $29 tickets. Honestly, as good as that show was, it is worth $90. Price along with the quality of the show this show would be in my personal top 5 shows I have ever attended. it REALLY is that good.

Destruction and Nervosa in Iowa City on Mother's Day. Great show and I honestly thought there would be a bigger crowd. Maybe 50-60 people there? Pretty pathetic turnout for two high quality thrash bands like that.
